In the Spring, this variety features leaves with burgundy topsides and green undersides which flushes out in the Summer to the variation in leaftone you see now. The Fall features more of the burgundy coloration.

Please note that any Japanese Maples would need to be dug by and delivered to you by 09/15/09 as they are considered Fall Dig Hazards, this means that they must be planted in Spring or Summer to re-establish root systems before going thru their first Winter.

Acer Palmatum Bloodgood 11' high x 9' wide

Note this is some green cast to the leaves, this is not a pure red leaf form. Sunlight will bring out more green in the leaves, a shady planting location will bring out more red. Leaf color can also be slightly tweaked by using a phosphorus based fertilizer to draw more red into the leaf color vs. the traditional nitrogren based fertilizer which will draw more green into the leaf.
